Program:
The Islamic
Weekend School is focused on providing the basic Islamic education and Islamic
values to our children. The curriculum is focused on three areas:
1. Quran
2. Arabic
3. Islamic Studies
We have a set program and well-defined curriculum. Our dedicated and talented
staff of volunteer teachers follows the curriculum, as much as possible.
Statement of
Objectives:
- We want the
children to be believing and practicing Muslims.
- We want them
to believe in Allah in their hearts and recognize that He is their Lord.
- We want the
children to be aware of their duty to Allah and to be motivated to do
‘Ibadah.
- We want the
children to have knowledge of the teaching and practices of Islam.
- The children
must know why Islam is a better way of life than everything they see around
them.
- We want the
children to develop character, better manners and a respectful demeanor.
- We want the
children to be able to relate Islamic beliefs and teachings to non-Muslims in a
coherent and compelling way
Levels:
Students are
divided into knowledge ability levels.
Give an entrance exam to the students when their parents bring them to register
for the
Weekend School. This test will determine how much they know about Quran.
Arabic and Islam. Then, place them in Mastery Level 1, 2, 3. Advanced studies
for college level students will be considered.
The exact knowledge and subject matter for each class will vary according to
their level. One of our goals should be to give the students something to look
forward to. They should expect that something different would come as they
advance through the grades. This is only possible if the students have a similar
level of knowledge. Then the teacher can build the instruction from there.
